Instructional methods set 2 is selected

After talking with the clients, you have decided to use the following instructional methods to conduct the fitness program with the group at Barrymores. These instructional methods are:

You ask the group how they feel about the ways you are leading the program. The group responds by saying that the methods you are using seem to be a pretty good way of getting the message across. They tell you that they think you are relating to each one of them well. They are happy with the way you are presenting the program.

You can get some more detailed information from each of the clients by selecting their name below, and then using the audio or subtitles buttons to hear what they have to say.

Points to consider

When working with a group, the clients will have differing learning styles. You will need to use a variety of instructional techniques to meet each of these learning styles. Some clients may not relate to all of the instructional techniques that you use. You will need to consider how you will respond to clients who do not feel comfortable with, or like, some of the instructional techniques you use. Remember, although people have preferred learning styles, they can learn from a wide range of instruction techniques.

Tutorial hints

Have a look at the learning resources that describe the different types of instructional methods that can be used in teaching people how to participate in a fitness program. Make sure you understand how each instructional technique is related to the different learning styles people may have. Identify strategies that you can use to encourage people to relate to instructional techniques that do not meet their preferred learning style.

Although the group is happy with the way you are presenting the program, each client has some concerns. You will need to respond to each person's concerns. When you have finished responding to their concerns, you will need to record the instructional methods that you will use in the program.
